How being yourself can inspire and connect others.

Reclaim your creative power by letting go of the need to get it right.

Welcoming in June, with a blue sky and open heart,

A sense of purpose,

About to start.

Sweet rose petals in my hand,

Bright as the sun I stand,

In courage and trust,

I must,

Open to what is true for me,

Imagine, believe,

As far and wide as the deep blue sea.

As I wrote that poem, I thought:

  • What am I here to create?

  • What is my gift to the world?

I felt expansive, and I wanted to share these questions with you.

Only you can choose to ask yourself these important questions, only you can choose to explore and experiment with what comes up;  remember, no-one can be better at being you.

The world needs nothing more than for us to share our gifts with one another, to soak up the joy from someone’s smile as they share their unique creations with us, and visa versa.

Is that not what creation is all about, opening up to something new?

Our tendency to focus on familiarity keeps us in our comfort zones, keeps us within the boundaries of what is expected.

We grasp and cling, allowing ourselves to use vital energy on actually just staying stuck - as Daniel Goleman states in Altered Traits “our emotional attachments, and addictions - in short, are what ensnare us.”

Fear often disguises itself as the thought of letting go of the ‘thing’ we’re clinging to, when in truth, it’s the fear of being seen — of stepping beyond the familiar boundaries and walking a path that is unknown.

What are you grasping to? What would happen if you let go, even just a little?

“Letting go of grasping is liberating, creating a moral axis for action and compassion.” Arthur Zajonc ~ Mind and Life Institute

It might surprise you how much more open you become to your own experience, how it truly feels, and what might be just around the corner. What new worlds could you discover if you let curiosity and creativity lead the way?"
